General View

  1. The Nursing Administration Office is considered the main base for all nursing sections at Rayak Hospital , through which supervision and coordination among these sections are practiced . There is also coordination with the other departments such as : General Administration Accounting , Radiology, Laboratories,  Housekeeping etc… .

Mission and Goals :

  1.  To provide the patients with excellent nursing care and to insure their comfort through highly qualified personnel .
  2. To help nurses improve their educational levels by helping the to get their master degree in DESS
  3. To stay keen on providing high quality nursing care through cooperation with the quality improvement office and the infection control office .
  4. To supervise and share in putting annual continuous education & training plans for all nurses .
  5. To publish to all nurses every amendments concerning nursing care protocols .
  6. To study and provide the nursing sections their human resources needs by recruiting new registered qualified nurses.
  7. To put the strategic plans of all nursing sections , and to share in the general quality improvement plan of the hospital .
  8. To share in putting the annual nursing budgets .
  1. To monitor staff abiding with the hospital in-laws .
  2. To conduct the annual performance evaluation tests for all nurses .

Human Resources

-The staff in the Nursing Administration office constitutes of the nursing director , Miss Wafaa Mortada , who is helped by 4 supervisors . These supervisors work through shifts to insure the cover of 7 days a week and 24 hrs a day .
he Nursing Director supervises all the nursing sections
 ( 17 sections ) , and solves the problems among them , with direct connection with the General Administration . She is also responsible for the Nursing Committee that constitute of 15 section responsible as members of the committee . This committee meets once a month .
The Nursing Director is also a member of several committees .
There is an Administrative Secretary for the Nursing Administration Office ;

  1. Who manages the office work and takes care of the typing  filing , all matters concerning nursing administration work including nursing committee minutes of meetings .
  2. Registers the daily nursing schedules
  3. Takes care of nurses personal files
  4. Organizes work and appointments of the nursing director

Supervisors Tasks :

  1. To supervise the nursing staff 24/24hrs
  2. To monitor the quality of the  nursing care provided through filling the patients special satisfaction forms
  3. To maintain good relations with the patients and their relatives
  1. To coordinate with the hospital various sections .

Policies and Procedures :

  1. Nursing performance evaluation
  2. Daily schedules
  3. Absence system ( sick leaves . maternity , death, etc … ) and providing substitutes
  4. Nursing sections communication lines
  5. To determine training needs and to conduct competence tests .
  6. Continuous education & training program
  7. New nurses orientation system
  8. Nursing committee laws and meetings
  9. Shifts and exchanging nurses among sections taking into consideration the needed ratio of staff/ patients
  10. Receiving under-training nurses from various universities and technical colleges

Continuous Education and Training

- There is a program  adapted  at Rayak Hospital called the continuous education and training  annual program   for all nurses . The office  responsible for implementing this program is the Continuous Education Office  with the collaboration of the Ministry of Public Health .

  1. This office puts the annual agenda, after studying the sections needs mutually with the Nursing Director . This agenda is carried out throughout the year with tests to evaluate the improvement in the  nurses educational levels  after every lecture given.

Expanding plan :

  1. The Nursing Director shares  in putting the Strategic Plan that aim at developing and improving work levels , and at opening new sections .

This plan is a five years plan and is annually reviewed.
